Universal Orlando Resort’s proposed underground transportation loop is now being linked to International Drive, with Universal Parks Blog first reporting that the corridor could be part of the plan. For now, though, it remains only a proposal: no route, timetable or station list has been confirmed publicly.
That matters because International Drive is already part of the day-to-day movement picture around Universal. The I-RIDE Trolley serves the resort area with more than 100 stops between Universal Boulevard and SeaWorld, while Universal itself already offers complimentary bus transport between its hotels and the rest of the resort. If the underground loop ever reached I-Drive, it would extend the idea beyond an internal park link and into a much wider visitor corridor.
Why the I-Drive connection matters
For Orlando locals and theme park fans, the interest here is not just that Universal is exploring a transport system. It is that an International Drive stop would change the scale of the project. Instead of serving only guests moving between resort destinations, the system could become relevant to hotel guests, convention visitors and anyone already using the wider I-Drive transport network.
