Inside Universal first reported that Killer Klowns from Outer Space is coming back to Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights 2026, and Universal has now folded that return into a full line-up that also puts Art the Clown on the Terror Tram. For Bedford readers, it is another clear example of how heavily Universal leans on horror IP and original concepts in its seasonal events.

The announcement was made during Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights panel at Midsummer Scream 2026. The Klowns house will be the property’s third appearance at HHN Hollywood, following earlier runs in 2019 and 2022. Halloween Horror Nights 2026 starts on Thursday, 3 September, and runs on select nights through Sunday, 1 November.

A returning house with a track record

Killer Klowns from Outer Space is not a new addition to Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood, but it is one of the event’s most familiar returnees. Its earlier Hollywood appearances in 2019 and 2022 give Universal a ready-made crowd favourite to bring back for 2026, and the official line-up confirms that the property is once again taking its place among the season’s haunted houses.

The Terror Tram gets a Terrifier takeover

Universal’s 2026 line-up also confirms Terror Tram starring Art the Clown, the killer from the Terrifier franchise. Alongside that, the event includes the original house KILLceañera: Music by SLASH, giving the Hollywood event a mix of returning horror property, original concept and franchise-driven live experience.

The rest of the event is built around multiple scare zones and street experiences, with Universal’s official overview also listing haunted houses, shows, themed food and beverages, and more. In other words, this is not being positioned as a single-maze occasion, but as a full seasonal programme built to spread across the park.

What happens next

With the full Halloween Horror Nights 2026 line-up now out in the open, the next fixed date is opening night on Thursday, 3 September. Universal says tickets are already on sale, and the event will continue on select nights through Sunday, 1 November.

Update: 12 August 2026

Halloween Horror Nights 2026 at Universal Studios Hollywood was discussed at Midsummer Scream, where Universal Creative Director and Executive Producer John Murdy took part in a panel that pushed the event’s lineup a little further into view. Inside Universal first reported the new details, which add Terror Tram, Obsession and KILLCeañera to the mix for next year’s event.

The panel did not settle the full picture, but it did underline that Universal is still shaping the 2026 season and teasing more to come. For HHN fans, it is another sign that the resort is already building towards a busy Halloween lineup.
