Super Nintendo World is expanding globally and Universal Studios Bedford is a prime candidate. Here's everything we know about Nintendo's potential presence at the UK park.

Super Nintendo World has been one of Universal's most successful new lands, drawing record crowds at Universal Studios Japan since its 2021 opening and launching at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2023. With Epic Universe adding an expanded version in Orlando, the question on every UK theme park fan's mind is simple: will Super Nintendo World come to Bedford?
Universal has confirmed that Super Nintendo World will feature at every new Universal park going forward. The land's combination of interactive gameplay, family-friendly rides, and beloved Nintendo IP makes it a guaranteed crowd-puller. Mario Kart: Koopa's Challenge alone draws multi-hour queues years after opening.
Bedford, as Universal's first European ground-up development, is the logical next destination for the Nintendo brand. Building the land from scratch also means Universal can incorporate lessons learned from Japan and Hollywood, delivering the most refined version yet.
The core Super Nintendo World experience centres on Mario Kart: Koopa's Challenge, an augmented reality dark ride that puts guests in a kart race against Bowser's minions. Yoshi's Adventure, a family-friendly omnimover ride, rounds out the Japanese original. Epic Universe's expanded version adds Donkey Kong Mine Cart Madness, a roller coaster that recreates the classic Donkey Kong Country gameplay.
Bedford could receive all three attractions at launch, or open with the core Mario Kart and Yoshi rides with Donkey Kong following in a later expansion phase. Either way, the land will feature the signature interactive Power-Up Bands, coin-collecting gameplay, and meticulously detailed environments that make Super Nintendo World feel like stepping inside a video game.
What sets Super Nintendo World apart from other themed lands is its interactivity. Guests wear Power-Up Bands that sync with a smartphone app, allowing them to punch question blocks, collect virtual coins, battle Piranha Plants, and compete on leaderboards throughout the land. This gamification layer means guests spend significantly more time in the area than passive themed lands, increasing satisfaction and per-capita spending.
The theming itself is extraordinary — every surface is sculpted to match the games' aesthetic, with forced perspective making structures appear larger than life. Moving Piranha Plants, rotating coins, and hidden character encounters create constant moments of discovery.
While Universal has not officially confirmed Super Nintendo World for Bedford, industry analysts consider it virtually certain. The land's proven commercial success, broad demographic appeal, and Nintendo's enormous European fanbase make it an obvious choice. Expect an official announcement within the next two years as construction planning advances.
